City Garage, Port Covington, Baltimore, Maryland
The LaunchPort™ is a manufacturing venture center located in Baltimore’s Port Covington. The Medtech center allows medical device start-ups and emerging technology developers the ability to co-locate at an experienced, regulated medical device manufacturing facility. As part of that residency, they can tap into core services (e.g. financial operating systems, quality system development, supply chain activities, regulatory submission/compliance support, reimbursement and revenue model development), while allowing them to focus capital resources on developing critical core competencies.
A typical Resident is an early stage device company in the initial phases of commercial development or product deployment, often recently graduated from an area incubator. The goal of The LaunchPort™ is to create an environment that supports emerging growth companies’ ability to utilize the region’s considerable Federal, State and Private life sciences resources to build their businesses. The facility is located within Port Covington’s 235 acre development project on Baltimore City’s waterfront, and within 4 miles of both Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland medical centers.
